We blend the timeless principles of waqf and ta’awun (mutual help) with modern technology to create a transparent, gamified, and dignified way for ordinary people to support one another.

TELEW operates a revolving digital waqf pool. Members subscribe at one of three tiers — Builder (RM1), Champion (RM5), or Hero (RM10) — and their monthly contributions enter the pool. Verified members in genuine need request community assistance from the pool, with no interest charged. As they return what they received, the funds flow back into the pool to help the next person. Every transaction grows the contributor’s and the borrower’s Hisab Coefficient — a transparent trust score visible to the whole community.
Conventional microfinance often carries hidden interest, rigid repayment terms, or predatory fees disguised as “service charges.” Communities lack a fair, transparent, values-driven tool that balances trust with accessibility. TELEW exists to change that — by treating every member as a partner, not a number.
TELEW was founded by educators, technologists, and community workers who have seen firsthand how a small RM200 emergency can derail a family for months. We started in Sarawak, but our vision is national — and one day, global.
