Quick answers to the questions we hear most often. For a deeper walkthrough, see how TELEW works.
Yes. The principal you receive as community assistance is the exact amount you return — no interest, no compounding, no hidden “service charge” on the principal. TELEW is built on the Islamic finance principles of waqf and qard hasan (benevolent loan), and it is open to Malaysians of every faith and background.
TELEW is sustained by voluntary monthly subscription tiers (RM1, RM5, RM10), CSR partnerships, and optional service charges on certain non-pool community missions. None of these affect the interest-free nature of the assistance pool itself.
HC is your transparent community trust score. It grows with every on-time contribution and every successful return, and decays gently with overdue returns. A higher HC unlocks larger assistance limits, higher tiers, and community badges. It is not shared with credit bureaus and has no impact on your bank credit score.
Any verified member of TELEW with a sufficient Hisab Coefficient can request assistance. Requests must pass KYC and legitimacy checks. We prioritise emergency needs — medical, education, urgent repairs — over discretionary spending.
Life happens. TELEW offers a Structured Flexibility framework with several lenient modes — pause, partial pay, extended schedule — designed to keep you in good standing without collections-style pressure. Talk to us; we work with you, not against you.
Yes. TELEW is fully PDPA-compliant. Identifiable personal data is encrypted at rest, never shared with third parties without consent, and protected by row-level security at the database layer. Public community interactions use pseudonymous usernames, never your real name.
